Beautiful rock formation made of gypsum and lime stone, La Scala dei Turchi, which means “The Turkish stairway”, is located on the southern coast of Sicily between Trapani and Agrigento. The name of this place refers to a legend which tells about the story of the Turkish invasion of Sicily. The stairway supposedly was built by the invaders to occupy the island.
